Why do I need a coach?
One of my values is honesty and in my view nobody needs a coach. I believe that everyone has the power to make positive changes and lead a fulfilling life.
However, collaborating with a coach can help make the development process easier, less painful and (dare I say it) rewarding.
What style of coaching do you use?
I use an approach that focuses on using your strengths and past successes to help you realise your ideal future. I bring my skills in listening and empathy to create a space where you can feel supported and empowered. From my clients I need them to be open, honest and willing to change. Together we are then able to collaborate on a plan of action that is most likely to succeed.
How will I know if you are the right coach for me?
In coaching it is important for us to be able to speak honestly and openly in order to work well together. I like to meet for an informal chat over coffee so that we can get to know each other and ask any questions we have. If we don’t click that’s ok, it is better to work this out early and find the right person for your development.
If we do get on then I will send worksheets to get you thinking about your values, goals and past successes prior to our first session.
How would I benefit from coaching?
Coaching can help you gain clarity on your vision (personally or professionally), lay out how you get their (strategic plan) and provide you with support as you take the necessary steps to achieving your goals.
Some other important benefits are:
- Outlining your values and putting them into practice
- Understanding your needs and how to prioritise them
- Learning to set boundaries and developing your communication skills
- Regular analysis of your strategic plan to keep you on track to success
What can I expect from the first session?
In our first session we will identify your values, strengths and past experience, so that we can form an idea of what might work for you. I like to talk about how you feel about change and what barriers may be preventing you from taking the necessary action to progress. We will also look at your support network and who else you can turn to in order to stay accountable and feel supported. By the end of our first session you will have a greater clarity on what you want and know what next steps you need to take.
How much will coaching cost me?
I charge $150 per hour paid in advance of our session.
Is coaching in-person or remote?
I offer both in-person and remote coaching sessions. I like to start with one or two coaching sessions in person in order to get to know you, before moving to remote coaching sessions. However, if that is not possible then video calls make life a whole lot easier!
How frequently do people get coaching?
It really depends on your needs and budget. For some people one or two sessions is enough to get a plan together which they can pursue on their own. Other people may need more regular contact once a week/fortnight.
